More than a Conference
ECPC27 is designed not only as a meeting point for outstanding physical chemistry and beyond, but also as an opportunity to experience Thessaloniki and Northern Greece together. Emphasis will be given on active networking for the establishment of new collaborations and friendships.
From a sunset over the Thermaic Gulf to the birthplace of Aristotle and the royal heritage of ancient Macedonia, the social program will offer participants memorable opportunities to connect outside the lecture halls and to taste the Greek flavors.
DAY 1
Welcome Reception – Wine & Saxophone
Evening | Conference Venue
Start ECPC27 in a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. Following registration and the opening activities, participants are invited to enjoy a welcome reception with Greek wine, light refreshments and live saxophone music.
A perfect first opportunity to meet colleagues, reconnect with friends and enjoy the beginning of the conference in Thessaloniki.

DAY 2
Thessaloniki from the Sea – Sunset, Drinks & White Tower
Late afternoon / sunset | Thessaloniki Waterfront
Experience Thessaloniki from a completely different perspective during an informal sunset cruise along the Thermaic Gulf.
With a drink in hand, enjoy panoramic views of the city’s waterfront, the iconic White Tower and the evening skyline while networking with fellow conference participants in a relaxed setting.

DAY 3
In the Footsteps of Aristotle
Ancient Stagira, Swimming & Traditional Greek Summer Lunch
Morning to sunset | Olympiada, Chalkidiki
Leave the conference halls behind for a memorable summer excursion to Ancient Stagira, birthplace of Aristotle and one of the most important archaeological sites in Northern Greece.
The programme will include a guided visit to Ancient Stagira, followed by free time for swimming at the nearby coast and a traditional Greek summer lunch by the sea.

DAY 4
Gala Dinner – A Greek Evening in Thessaloniki

One of the highlights of ECPC27 will be the official Gala Dinner, bringing together participants, invited speakers and guests for an evening of Greek cuisine, conversation and celebration.
Enjoy local flavours and the warm atmosphere of Thessaloniki while strengthening old collaborations and creating new ones beyond the scientific sessions.

DAY 5
Royal Macedonia – Vergina & the Museum of the Royal Tombs
3 pm to sunset | Vergina
Discover the ancient Kingdom of Macedonia on a guided excursion to Vergina, the first capital of ancient Macedonia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participants will visit the extraordinary Museum of the Royal Tombs, including the tomb traditionally attributed to Philip II, as well as selected archaeological highlights of ancient Aigai.
The excursion is designed as a focused cultural experience, combining expert guidance with one of the most important archaeological destinations in Greece.
